It's been tough making time for writing since moving out to the land. Part of this is lack of time, (I have endless projects) and part of this is lack of a private space. The other part is probably making excuses. I'm a closed door type of writer and when you live in a tiny house, you don't just have extra rooms lying around all over the place where you can coop yourself up and away from the world, (and the kids.)
My solution is a writer's cabin, but up until now, it's just been a plan, a dream. I have too many other things that need doing and monies. Here's the thing though; if I don't write, I'm not happy. It's a pickle.
Well, lo and behold, my lovely wife is browsing Facebook yesterday, and she finds the solution. An 8x12 insulated, wired shed for $500. It's not quite perfect, and it's not quite up to my construction standards, but the price IS perfect. I'll have to do a little fix-it-up work, painting, install solar panels and a wood stove for winter, but the long hiatus is nearly over. Thank God. It's been a dry year for the written word.
